We fight food waste by delivering fresh produce to your door which otherwise would have been turned into landfill. The fruit & veg we deliver in your box comes from growers who don't have enough for large orders, a surplus, or the produce has been knocked back by supermarkets due to cosmetic quirks or size. In Australia alone we throw away 3.1 million tonnes of food - we're here to do something about that. We hope you join us on the journey to chip away at this problem one delectable delivery at a time.

Our focus is on rescuing on-farm food waste that would be rejected by supermarkets --for this reason, our business model is fundamentally environmentally friendly. We have amplified this effect by identifying and acting on other areas that we can implement environmentally friendly measures such as ensuring our vegetables and packaging uses minimal plastic and instituting a recycled box program. We have also partnered with a delivery service that uses efficiency optimisation and offsetting to reduce our carbon footprint.
While this question is not directly applicable to our business model since our focus is on direct relationships with farmers to rescue fruit and veg that would otherwise go to waste, we have developed governance processes, including an anti-slavery policy, to ensure that we have strong ethical guardrails in place that will meet, and hopefully exceed, international labor standards, as we grow.
We have a range of initiatives in place to give back to our community. This includes our continuous donation stream to OzHarvest, our close work with Nutrition Australia to raise awareness around healthy eating for both kids and adults, our support of primary schools with awareness raising efforts via fruit and veg programs, and our support of mental health and wellness initiatives like Coastrek. While we believe our business model is what makes the biggest social impact, we are always looking for ways to expand this impact with a particular focus on fighting food waste, improving nutrition and helping our communities with the cost of living.
Good & Fugly ensures an equitable, diverse and inclusive workplace. We pride ourselves in the varied cultures our team represents, and always show enthusiasm at the opportunity to grow.
Our business model embodies circular economy principals by directly saving on-farm produce from going to waste. This aim also has up cycling built in and will see Good & Fugly work hard to rescue and upcycle as much food waste as possible, building new circular economy pathways for use and re-use via products and education.
The delivery from our warehouse to your door is completely carbon neutral. We also go to extra lengths to ensure that there is zero plastic packaging in and on your box. The boxes your delicious produce is delivered in can also be returned and re-used to give them another life. We have all of our produce delivered fresh daily, and everything we don't use goes straight to the team at OzHarvest.
