Bamboo is an incredible plant. However, transforming it into fabric is where things can become complicated. Bamboo viscose, rayon and modal go through a chemically intensive process that harms the environment, workers and local communities. Our CleanBamboo is the only bamboo fabric that uses a non-toxic solvent and recycles 98% of the solution up to 200 times to turn raw bamboo into the silky-soft sheets you know and love.
Yes, we use third party auditors such as SEDEX & BSCI as well as our own extensive Compliance documents and factory profiles that need to be completed when onboarding a new facility. This includes compliance with local labor laws, nondiscrimination and Freedom of association rights as well as an affidavit that they do not engage in forced labor nor do they source from partners that engage in these practices.
âEttitude is a proud member of 1% for the Planet, which means we donate 1% of our top line revenue to environmental nonprofits, and we also do special campaigns to donate more than 1% throughout the year. For instance, last year we partnered with SeaTrees and restored 4,334 sq ft of kelp in Palos Verdes for #GivingTuesday 2022 and this 2023 we planted 3,790 mangroves in Baja for #WorldMangroveDay. But that's not all! We're committed to being Ocean+Positive. We purchased 1,922 carbon credits to protect coastal watersheds in Cambodia, and to top it off, we've planted 5,766 mangroves in Kenya, sequestering more carbon than we emit. These blue carbon projects not only sequester more carbon than terrestrial forests, but also restore marine biodiversity and provide sustainable employment to local communities.â Phoebe Yu, Founder & CEO
